Image Comics Lobs New Series, "Glitterbomb," at Readers

YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SHAKE OFF GLITTERBOMB

An explosive new series that pulls no punches

“A gut-punch of glitz and blood and starf**ked culture.”—Chuck Wendig (Blackbirds)

Fan-favorite Jim Zub (WAYWARD, Thunderbolts) and debut artist Djibril Morisette-Phan will launch an all-new series that tears into the heart of Hollywood in GLITTERBOMB this September.

Farrah Durante is a middle-aged actress hunting for her next gig in an industry where youth trumps experience. But the shallow, celebrity-obsessed culture she’s drowning in isn’t the only problem—her frustrations are a powerful lure for something horrifying out beyond the water…something ready to strike.

“Hollywood is a place of extremes—wealth and influence propped up by fragile egos and desperation,” said Zub. “It's fertile ground for telling a story of intense drama and blood-soaked vengeance.”

“GLITTERBOMB is one of my first steps in the world of comics, and I feel very fortunate,” said Morisette-Phan. “It has been a great vehicle for me to start some much-needed reflection about fame culture and the relationship I want to have with it. I'd love GLITTERBOMB to kick-start a conversation we could all be part of.”

First announced at Image Expo, GLITTERBOMB is already raking in accolades: “Sharply written and drawn, with deft insight into the trappings of celebrity culture, GLITTERBOMB just might be the ultimate Hollywood horror story,” said Karen Berger, founder of DC’s Vertigo imprint.

GLITTERBOMB #1 Cover A by Djibril Morisette-Phan (Diamond code: JUL160682) and GLITTERBOMB #1 Cover B by Steve Cummings and Djibril Morisette-Phan (Diamond code: JUL160683) will both hit comic book stores Wednesday, September 7th, 2016. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, August 15th, 2016.
