The Writers Guild of America is a labor
union representing film, television, radio, video game, and new media
writers. The Writers Guild of America Award acknowledges outstanding
achievements in film, television, and radio and has been presented
annually by the Writers Guild of America, East and Writers Guild of
America, West since 1949.
The Writers Guild Awards honor
outstanding writing in film, television, new media, videogames, news,
radio, promotional, and graphic animation categories. 2017 / 69th
Writers Guild Awards nominations were announced Wednesday, January 4,
2017. The awards were presented at concurrent ceremonies on Sunday,
February 19, 2017, in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton and in New
