MOVIES - From Variety:  Halle Berry has been signed on for a remake of the 1985 film "Jagged Edge."  The courtroom thriller starred Glenn Close, Jeff Bridges, Peter Coyote, and Robert Loggia (who earned an supporting Oscar nomination for his role).

TELEVISION - From Variety:  National Geographic is developing a TV series based on the Oscar-nominated, hit film, "Hidden Figures."

OBITS:

From Variety:  Czech-born film director Milos Forman has died at the age of 86, Friday, April 13, 2018.  Forman won the "Best Director" Oscar twice, for directing "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975) and "Amadeus" (1984).  He also directed one of my favorite film, "Valmont" (1989).

From TheColumbian:  Japanese filmmaker, Isao Takahata, died at the age of 82, Thursday, April 5, 2018.  Takahata founded the legendary animation company, Studio Ghibli, with Hayao Miyazaki in 1985.  He received an Oscar nomination for his 2013 animated film, "A Tale of Princess Kaguya."

From THR:  Actress from the "Golden Age" of Hollywood, Mary Hatcher, died at the age of 88, Tuesday, April 3, 2018.  Hatcher was a co-star of Hollywood luminaries Mickey Rooney (in the film, "The Big Wheel") and Desi Arnaz (in "Holiday in Havana").
