The McCallister Family is Back on the Big Screen with ‘Home Alone 25th Anniversary’ in Select Cinemas This November
Fathom Events and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Present The Return of This Family Classic on November 8 and 11, 2015
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--To mark the anniversary of one of the best live-action comedies of all time, Fathom Events and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment present Home Alone 25th Anniversary, coming to select cinemas for two dates on Sunday, November 8 and Wednesday, November 11, 2015. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than by enjoying this Christmas comedy blockbuster with the whole family on its original home of the big screen. In addition to the full-length feature, the event will also include a special introduction that will be exclusive to cinema audiences.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to give audiences this unique opportunity to re-experience a classic as it was meant to be seen.”
Tickets for Home Alone 25th Anniversary can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in more than 600 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).
Featuring a superstar cast led by Macaulay Culkin in the role that made him an international household name, relive every pratfall and prank with Catherine O’Hara, John Heard, John Candy, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. The franchise, that spawned four sequels and three video games, begins as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Culkin) has become the man of the house, overnight! Accidentally left behind when his family rushes off on a Christmas vacation, Kevin gets busy decorating the house for the holidays. But he's not decking the halls with tinsel and holly. Two bumbling burglars are trying to break in, and Kevin's rigging a bewildering battery of booby traps to welcome them!
“Long-time fans and first-time viewers of ‘Home Alone’ will laugh together at their local cinema this November,” said Fathom Events CEO John Rubey. “We’re proud to be partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to give audiences this unique opportunity to re-experience a classic as it was meant to be seen.”
The Home Alone: Anniversary Collection will be available in-stores everywhere October 6. The collection features all five HOME ALONE films on DVD along with a beautiful 4K restoration on Blu-ray™ and Digital HD™ of the first film along with HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK on Blu-ray™ and Digital HD™. HOME ALONE 3, HOME ALONE 4: TAKING BACK THE HOUSE and HOME ALONE 5: THE HOLIDAY HEIST will all be included on DVD.

Review: "Rapture-Palooza" is Charming, Off-Beat Fun
TRASH IN MY EYE No. 37 (of 2015) by Leroy Douresseaux
[This review was originally posted on Patreon.]
Rapture-Palooza (2013)
Running time: 85 minutes (1 hour, 25 minutes)
MPAA – R for language including crude sexual references throughout, and for drug use
DIRECTOR: Paul Middleditch
WRITER: Chris Matheson
PRODUCERS: David Householter, Jimmy Miller, and Ed Solomon
CINEMATOGRAPHER: Robert New (D.o.P.)
EDITOR: Melissa Bretherton
COMPOSER: Joachim Horsley
COMEDY/FANTASY
Starring: Craig Robinson, Anna Kendrick, John Francis Daley, Rob Corddry, Ana Gasteyer, John Michael Higgins, Calum Worthy, Jesse Camacho, Thomas Lennon, Ken Jeong, Bjorn Yearwood, Paul Scheer, Darcy Michael, Mike O'Connell, Tyler Labine, and Andy Fiscella
Rapture-Palooza is a 2013 fantasy-comedy film from director Paul Middleditch and writer Chris Matheson. The film focuses on a young woman and her boyfriend as they try to outwit the Antichrist who wants to impregnate the young woman.
Rapture-Palooza opens with the arrival of the Biblical Rapture, in which the pious, sanctified, and those deemed worthy by (the Christian) God are whisked off to Heaven, while everyone else is left behind. This begins the Apocalypse, and soon humanity is vexed by falling meteorites, a plague of evil locusts (that yell “Suffer!”), talking crows (that use profanity), storms (that rain blood), and wraiths (who are addicted to smoking pot).
In Seattle, Lindsey (Anna Kendrick) and her boyfriend, Ben (John Francis Daley), are survivors of this Apocalypse, trying to make the best of this bad situation. They fend for themselves, and even come up with a small business idea – “Good Sandwiches,” a food cart for selling good sandwiches. However, a politician named Earl Gundy (Craig Robinson) is revealed to be “The Beast” of the Apocalypse. The Beast is looking for a bride, a nice girl who is a virgin and who will bare him many beastly children.
The Beast discovers Lindsey and demands that she have sex with him and become his bride or he will kill all her family and friends – the ones who were not “raptured.” Repulsed by his offer, Lindsey and Ben concoct a plan to capture and imprison The Beast, but will their not-really-well-thought-out plan save Lindsey or make things worse for everyone else?
Rapture-Palooza is by no means a great movie or even an exceptional comedy. However, it is one of the few films that take both a funny and even mocking view of the Rapture and the Apocalypse, and that counts for something. The scenes depicting the Rapture are probably this film's most inspired moments. The pace of the movie is slow, and the director relies on dialogue to make the film work. Also, it must be said that cast and crew make the most of an obviously small budget.
The cast is good, especially the three leads. Supporting actors like Ken Jeong, Rob Corddry, Thomas Lennon, Paul Scheer, Calum Worthy, and Ana Gasteyer, among others, have some good comic moments, especially the always-funny Corddry. Fans of off-beat comedy should give Rapture-Palooza a try. I have to say that I find it funny enough to watch again.

Dinah Baergas is Naruto's "Hokage for a Day"
VIZ MEDIA ANNOUNCES THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF HOKAGE FOR A DAY CONTEST
NARUTO Fan Dinah Baergas Wins The Opportunity To Meet NARUTO Creator Masashi Kishimoto At The 2016 New York Comic Con
VIZ Media has announced the Grand Prize winner of its Hokage for a Day Promotion to celebrate NARUTO and the upcoming first-ever U.S. appearance by the manga series creator Masashi Kishimoto at the 2015 New York Comic Con (NYCC) in October. Over the past 6 weeks, NARUTO fans submitted one-minute YouTube video entries describing what NARUTO means to them.
Dinah Baergas of New York, NY submitted the winning video. She was inspired by NARUTO to pursue her passion for art and is now a student at Parsons. In addition, she is always taking action to improve her local community. Watch the winning video at: viz.com/hokage.
As the Grand Prize winner, Baergas will have the opportunity to meet NARUTO’s creator Masashi Kishimoto during NYCC, and also join in several of Kishimoto’s events during the show.
For her written entry that accompanied the video, Baregas wrote: “In 2005, I was introduced to a new type of character - the ever youthful Might Guy. I confused him for merely a role of comic relief, but later found he was a genuine though humanly flawed shinobi. My role model. Kishimoto's characters made me who I am today, and I only wish to be granted the opportunity to meet my hero, Kishimoto himself. If chosen, you can expect kid Guy to make a dynamic entry right into NYCC! Thank you for your consideration and for supporting the fans.”
VIZ Media and ReedPOP, in partnership with The Japan Foundation, will welcome Masashi Kishimoto for a very special series of personal appearances at the massive pop culture convention that will take place October 8th-11th, 2015 at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. Actor Raphael Sbarge a Guest at 2015 Baltimore Comic-Con
"Once Upon a Time's" Raphael Sbarge Joins the Baltimore Comic-Con Guest List
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - Tickets are now available for 2015's Baltimore Comic-Con this September 25-27, 2015. The 16th annual show returns to the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The Baltimore Comic-Con is excited to announce the addition of Raphael Sbarge to the 2015 guest list, courtesy of BOOM! Studios.
Raphael Sbarge was born into a theatre-oriented family in New York City. His mother, Jeanne Button, was a costume designer, and his father, Stephen A. Sbarge, was an artist, writer and stage director who named his son after the Renaissance artist. Sbarge began his career at the age of five on Sesame Street.
Sbarge made his stage debut in Joseph Papp's 1981 Shakespeare in the Park production of Henry IV, Part 1. The following year he made his Broadway debut opposite Faye Dunaway in the short-lived play, The Curse of an Aching Heart. Other New York stage credits include Hamlet (1982), Ah, Wilderness! (1988), Ghosts (1988), The Twilight of the Gods (1993), The Shadow Box, and Voices in the Dark (1999). Sbarge's film credits include Risky Business (1983), Vision Quest (1985), My Man Adam (1985), My Science Project (1985), Carnosaur (1993), The Hidden II (1993), Babes in Toyland (1997), Independence Day (1996), BASEketball (1998), Message in a Bottle (1999), Pearl Harbor (2001), and Home Room (2002). Sbarge has appeared in numerous television series and television movies, including A Streetcar Named Desire with Ann-Margret in 1984; Billionaire Boys Club, Cracked Up with Edward Asner, and Prison for Children in 1987; Back to Hannibal: The Return of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn in 1990; Murder 101 with Pierce Brosnan and Final Verdict with Treat Williams in 1991; Breast Men with Chris Cooper and Quicksilver Highway with Christopher Lloyd in 1997; and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge with Halle Berry in 1999. He had recurring roles in five episodes of Star Trek: Voyager in 1996, and in the first four episodes of the sixth season of 24. In 2001-2004, Sbarge was a regular cast member of The Guardian (TV series) starring Simon Baker and he also played in a chapter of Six Feet Under.
In 2007 he appeared in a two-part episode of Journeyman. In 2010 he played in "Practically Perfect", a season five episode of Dexter as an Internal Affairs Agent named Jim McCort. He played a guest appearance in the third season of Nip/Tuck. He also has voice acted for video games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords as Carth Onasi; as RC-1262 "Scorch" in Star Wars: Republic Commando; and as Kaidan Alenko in Mass Effect and its sequel Mass Effect 2. Additionally, Sbarge also voiced the character Professor Zei in a guest-star appearance on the thirtieth episode of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender.
In 2011, he became part of the ABC fantasy series "Once Upon a Time," where he plays Dr. Hopper, a human who, thanks to a curse placed upon all the fairy tale characters by the Evil Queen from Snow White, is actually Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio. Once Upon a Time returns to ABC television Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 8pm ET.
Taking his presence in mass media to a whole new level, Sberge is now featured in the BOOM! Studios/Macrocosm Entertainment comic book series, Lantern City. Set in a world that is a dark mirror of our own, Lantern City is a breathtaking, unfamiliar, and terrifying the walled metropolis, divided by class and geography. Citizens -- those who occupy the sordid street-level neighborhoods -- tirelessly keep the city going, while the ruling class of the Grey Empire lives high above the populace where they bargain and manipulate for every ounce of power they can muster. Strange science and a criminal network can be found far below the city in the underground, where violence is the only way to negotiate. In addition to his likeness appearing in the comic, Raphael will act in the role of his character in the television adaptation, starring alongside John Rhys-Davies and Mira Furlan.
"When our friends at BOOM! Studios told us they might be able to get Raphael to the show because of his work on Lantern City, we were pretty excited with the prospect," said Marc Nathan, promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. "We're big fans of his work, and love to watch Once Upon a Time, like so many of our attendees, so when we sealed the deal, we were thrilled!"
