"The Conjuring 2" Cross the $300 Million Mark Worldwide

New Line Cinema’s “The Conjuring 2” Scares Up More Than $300 Million Worldwide

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New Line Cinema’s supernatural horror thriller “The Conjuring 2” has grossed over $300 million at the worldwide box office as it continues to thrill and chill movie audiences around the world. Filmmaker James Wan’s second foray into the world of demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren has taken in $101.4 million at the domestic box office so far, and $204.5 million on approximately 3,000 screens in 60 markets internationally, with a few small territories yet to release. “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2,” respectively, are now the highest grossing horror films worldwide, after 1973’s “The Exorcist.” And with a total of $305.9 million and counting for this current film alone, “The Conjuring” universe—consisting of “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle” and “The Conjuring 2”—is now the third-highest grossing horror franchise worldwide, earning more than $882 million with just three films.

New Line Cinema’s supernatural thriller “The Conjuring 2,” with James Wan once again at the helm following the record-breaking success of “The Conjuring,” brings to the screen another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga (“Up In the Air”) and Patrick Wilson, star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.

Dark Horse Comics Announces New "Serenity" Comic Book

Dark Horse announces new installment in “Serenity” series

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Dark Horse is excited to announce the newest Serenity series, Serenity: No Power in the ’Verse. Originally created by the legendary Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel), Serenity begins its next chapter with a story written by Chris Roberson (iZombie, Witchfinder: City of the Dead) and illustrated by Georges Jeanty (Buffy Seasons 8 and 9, Serenity: Leaves on the Wind).

Roberson described his excitement for the new series: “I’ve been a devoted fan of Captain Reynolds and company since the first episode of Firefly aired, and have followed the exploits of the Serenity crew through TV, film, and comics ever since. Serenity: No Power in the ’Verse finds Malcolm Reynolds and his crew struggling through some difficult times. Tensions are at an all-time high when the crew receives a call to help find a missing friend. The crew must come together to discover the answers to her mysterious disappearance. Will they find her in time?

No Power in the ’Verse is preceded by the Serenity comics Those Left Behind, Better Days, The Shepherd’s Tale, and Leaves on the Wind.

Each season the series has continued to establish several all-time high performances for STARZ viewership, with the Season Three premiere growing more than 58% from the Season Two and 389% from Season One premieres respectively.1

    3.37 Million Live+SD premiere night viewers in total over the three Sunday night airings, the most ever for an originals series season premiere (“Power” Season Two premiere night Live+SD viewership 2.72 million; +650,000 or +24% increase in viewers).3
